The North, Central America and Caribbean men's championship (NORCECA) — staged in Canada — allocated three berths to a world-level event in 2027. According to the results report, the USA and Canada had already secured their places before the gold-medal match; Cuba took the third and last berth by beating the Dominican Republic in the bronze-medal match played a few hours earlier.

That placed the final in a peculiar psychological state: both teams walked on court with no consequence left regarding qualification. This is year one of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle.
